'The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous.' Psalms 146:8
'Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”' John 3:3
'I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’' Acts 26:17-18
In the mornings my wife and I go down to the beach to start our day by worshipping God with prayer. It is an awesome experience with the wind, the waves, the fresh air.
This morning we were blessed with an aerial show from a dolphin that was body surfing. It was jumping and frolicking like a kid. Such a awesome site and a blessing to see God's work in action.
Yesterday, I was by myself as my wife left for work earlier than normal. I went to the beach to pray. I have been digging the Calvary crosses in the sand for a while. The two thieves usually vanish everyday. But, the main and centered cross, which Jesus was hung stays. Sometimes there may be a footprint or two, or the elements may cover it up. But, usually it remains.
So everyday it gets a little deeper as I keep it fresh and new for whoever may come across it. As I was finishing up the cross of Jesus, an elderly lady was walking by. She blurts out, " Someone's gonna fall in there and break their leg". I responded, " They should pay attention".
This made me think about what she had said. Everyday people are walking around without looking where they are going. Everyday, we go through our routines blindly. Most people do the same thing over and over and are so repetitive that they probably can get through most of their day with their eyes wide shut. Many walk around with foolish arrogance believing that they only need themselves to get where they are going or want to go. Many worship false gods and idols. Many walk around without the Faith and Belief in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
I think about this and I believe some people need to fall into that cross I dug. Maybe it would open their hearts to allow the Gospel flow through them. Maybe it would bring even one sinner to repentance. Maybe it would soften a person's heart that when they walk by they don't look at the cross as a problem but rather a life saving solution.
You can leave all of your troubles, worries, confessions and desires at the foot of the cross for Jesus to bear. He has already defeated Satan and taken away the sin of the world for those that believe in him.
I believe this to be true. I believe that God's word is "a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path". Many in the world are walking in the world without Jesus in their hearts and on a path that will only lead to their condemnation. Everyone needs to open their eyes and their hearts and get into the word of God and learn what it teaches about life and how to live it. You'd be surprised how much is written just on what to eat, how to work and sleep and live righteously. It is God's love letter to us, and an instruction manual on how to live a long, happy, healthy, and prosperous life.
I will close in prayer and thank anyone who may have taken time out of his or her day to read this.
Father I thank You for today that I am awake and have the beautiful beach so close to me to worship you. I thank you for the provision you give us daily and the mercy and grace which we do not deserve.
God, I ask that you send out your Holy Spirit, to soften the hearts of those who need it. And of those who do not have your only begotten Son Jesus in their hearts. Out of the "Faith Hope and Love" you teach us about in Corinthians 13:13, Love is the greatest. I ask for Love to open the eyes of those who are blind to the salvation that can only be found in Christ. I ask for those are not led by Faith in You that they fall at the cross and become new in spirit and dead to the old selves. I pray and ask for this in the name above all names Jesus Christ Our Saviour. I thank you for hearing our prayers and giving us such a beautiful place to worship your Son who is, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”' Revelation 4:8
